Class Leading 2010 Chevy Malibu

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Since its segment-shaking redesign in 2008, the Chevy Malibu has consistently ranked amongst the very best the competitive midsize family sedan segment has to offer. With more modern and appealing styling, craftsmanship, safety and performance than its Honda and Toyota counterparts, the 2010 Malibu is primed for continued greatness.

Outside, Chevy’s newest sedan is a model of meticulous craftsmanship and painstaking attention to detail. In LS, 1LT, 2LT and LTZ trims, the sophisticated Malibu styling that has generated driver praise and critical acclaim since its inception returns for 2010, complete with tightened gaps and seams, brilliantly sculpted paneling and carefully detailed lines.

Resting on available 18-inch, 10-spoke aluminum alloys, Malibu’s elegant form sits low and wide, ensuring a steady, balanced base for Chevy’s latest midsize. An available silver finish and chrome grille is split horizontally by a body-colored strip housing the Chevy bowtie, and stretches like a set of gritting teeth between two aggressively mounted halogen headlamps and optional projector beam foglamps.

Lines on the Malibu are long and smooth, powering back from the vehicle’s angular front end over gently arching side panels, chrome accents, optional heated mirrors and a sleek roofline (with available power sunroof). The sedan’s beautifully tailored backend features integrated LED clear-lens taillamps, as well as an available spoiler.

Beneath the hood, Chevy’s latest brilliantly blends power and efficiency with two dynamic engine choices. Malibu’s base engine is a spirited 2.4-liter ECOTEC four-cylinder that makes 169 hp and 160 lb/ft of torque through a standard four-speed or available six-speed automatic transmission with TAPshift controls. When attached to the six, Chevy’s 2.4-liter is capable of up to 33 highway mpg, more than comparable options from Honda and Toyota. Chevy also offers an upgraded 3.6-liter ECOTEC V6, an impressively efficient and powerful engine that utilizes advanced Variable Valve Timing to hit up to 252 hp.

Chevy Cruze Adds To GM’s Growing Fuel Efficient Lineup

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

The 2011 Chevy Cruze will make its US debut in the third quarter of 2010, around the same time as the Chevy Volt will be making it’s debut. The Cruze has been highly successful internationally, and with the small car segment heating up from examples on display at the North American International Auto Show, this will further enhance the selection for people in the market for something new and good on gas.

The bar is raising, cars like Chevy Cruze can lift up a company like GM to where it should be as it prepares for the comeback of the century. Their was a good vibe that filled the rooms at Cobo Hall in Detroit as Ed Whitacre, GM’s new CEO took the podium. The significance of the GM lineup of small cars due to come out this year will send people flocking to the dealers anxious to see the technology and savings these vehicles produce.

The design of the Chevy Cruze is of determination and commitment. Looking at one from the front you can see the global design elements that chiseled look which leaves little opportunity for criticism. Engineers and designers were definitely on the same level here, and it’s clear that prior issues and doubt weren’t on their minds.

When it seems things couldn’t get much worse for domestic car companies, they pulled together and fought to produce what the public wants. With vehicles such as the Chevy Cruze, the Chevy Aveo RS and the Chevy Volt, the question no longer remains whether to buy American, the question becomes how am I supposed to choose only one.

Marc Heitz Chevrolet Finishes #1 in the State for the Third Consecutive Year

leeinfrontofstore-250pxWhile 2009 was a rollercoaster year all across the industry, Marc Heitz Chevrolet in Norman had a very promising year full of exciting new additions and welcomed news. And thanks to you, our loyal customers and family, we received news this past week that once again, Marc Heitz was the #1 Chevy Dealer in the State for all of 2009!

The year started off with a blast as we unveiled MarcHeitzCorvette.com, our exclusive website for the premiere Corvette Capital of the State, which got Vette enthusiasts across the country excited for the 2nd Annual NCCO All Corvette Show, hosted at Marc Heitz Chevrolet in August.

At the end of May, we hosted one of the largest pre-auction sales events ever with over 1,000 vehicles, covering all nine American-made lines (and then some) gathered in Norman at I-35 and Exit 108 for 5 days of great deals, great food, and great giveaways!

Child and dog Halloween costume contests, concerts in the amphitheatre, the International Finals Rodeo awards banquet… it seems like something is continually happening at Marc Heitz Chevrolet in Norman! And with the green features of the dealership conserving higher than anticipated, the new store at I-35 and Exit 108 is making quite a name for itself.

But while Marc Heitz Chevrolet is indeed “one-of-a-kind,” you don’t get to be #1 just because you have a cool looking lot. It takes an understanding that relationships with people are more important than selling cars.

Our success starts with our name. We don’t label ourselves as an ‘Auto Group’. We’re ‘Marc Heitz Auto Family’, and we treat every one of our employees and customers like they are a part of our family. Our stores are known for their laid-back, friendly atmosphere and our customers know they don’t have to fight for a fair price. We provide them with service loaner cars for the life of their vehicle. And we work hard so our customers will not only come back for future purchases, but also refer their friends and family to our dealerships.

So once again, we’d like to say “THANKS OKLAHOMA” for making Marc Heitz Chevrolet in Norman the #1 Chevy Dealer in the State for the third year in a row!

Chevy Grows Small-Car Lineup By 2012

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

In less than 2 years, there will be four small cars available from Chevrolet in the U.S. market.

In addition to the Chevy Aveo and the game-changing electronic Volt, Chevrolet will be introducing the Cruze, a more mature and sohpisticated replacement for the Chevy Cobalt, in 2011 in addition to the fuel-saving Spark.

“We think that we’re going to start seeing some industry growth, and that’s going to put pressure on fuel prices again…so we think that’s going to encourage consumers to continue buying small cars,” said small cars marketing director Margaret Brooks. “We’re seeing really a resurgence of small cars throughout the industry.”

The 2011 Chevy Cruze will change how people view small cars, having the roominess and add-ons that you would normally find on a more upscale mid-size car, but with the price and fuel-economy of a compact.

The longest running of the small car models for Chevrolet will also be undergoing some significant positive changes. The next generation Chevy Cobalt will be American-made, being moved to the Lake Orion, Michigan plant that was the former production facility of the Pontiac G6.

We look forward to the diversity of these models when they share the lot here at Marc Heitz Chevrolet within the next couple years.

Chevy Volt Is Highest Priority

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

In the face of uncertainty and speculation emerges the future of the electric automobile and GM along with it’s new CEO Ed Whitacre has taken center stage at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, MI.

The Chevy Volt will go on sale later this year, the exact date was thought to be sometime in November but if Ed Whitacre had his way it would be today. So Whitacre, the new CEO of GM, is pushing to see the smiling faces of new Volt owners come as early as September.

The Volt is an exceptional feat. Their is simply no questioning the direction GM is heading as it puts it’s foot down to change the way we drive. There are sure to be bumps in the road but now that we are on the right track it’s going to be a great ride.

GM is clearly making a comeback, and will do so much in part by the determination of one highly successful leader. When Obama asked Whitacre to come help the fledgling company get back on it’s feet he declined coming out of retirement to do so. But the challenge proved to be more than he could resist.

The Chevy Volt is a cumulation of the capabilities of GM, it’s engineers and it’s homebase, the city of Detroit. The center of the world for automotive accomplishments and world changing technology is deeply rooted there and prevalent in the minds of it’s residents. There are few places, if any, that could ever produce the engineering capability and concentration of such brilliant innovation.

In addition to the news of getting the Volt on the streets as soon as September, GM is now saying you might see a price around $32,000 once you take advantage of the tax credits and incentives to purchase the Volt. The anticipation of the Volt is hard to hold back, but in a matter of months you will be able to buy a piece of history.

Imagine spending $.85 to $1.00 on electricity to drive 40 miles as opposed $7.00 on gas. The Volt is expecting around 4,000 to 5,000 units available at first followed by tens of thousands throughout the year. Expectations are to sell 50,000 to 60,000 annually.
